Craig O'Connell BA BCA
            
 Craig O'Connell has been with RAP Consulting Ltd (formerly Rodgers & Partners Wellington Branch) since August 1981. His focus has moved from primarily recruiting to a mix of recruiting, facilitation and organisational development activities.
Most work has been carried out for medium to large sized organisations operating primarily in the private sector. Banking and financial services, telecommunications, brewing, pharmaceuticals, oil industry, airlines, public utilities and organisations involved in exporting, manufacturing and the service industry have provided the opportunity for most of his work. Typically relationships with organisations have lasted over many years with a majority of business each year being for the same clients.
Craig has provided a range of organisational development activities based on a thorough understanding and knowledge of the client's organisation and industry sector. As a result, activities for each client have covered a range of activities from recruiting, planning and project managing merger activities, facilitating strategic planning involving Directors and senior staff, drafting HR policies, specific employment interventions as required.
A key consulting skill developed within RAP Consulting is ensuring that consulting activities produce effective outcomes and don't sit on the shelf gathering dust.
Key aspects of Craig's approach are:
- Carrying out all work with the consultant or consultants hired to do the job - work is not assigned to less experienced staff
- Applying a thorough understanding of the clients business to deliver an effective outcome.
- Insuring that clients realise the value of the money they have spent by insisting that the results of any consulting activity be judged on decisions made and actions taken.
Prior to joining RAP Consulting, Craig trained as a teacher and worked in the pharmaceutical industry in sales and marketing.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Victoria University. |
